Information

It is a variety of beryl (from the same category with the emerald) of light blue diaphanous which it remembers of the sea water. Even its name comes from aqua marine, the Latin for the” sea water”.
In olden times was said that the Aquamarine is a courage stone which had protected the travelers on the water to return safety back home after long voyages.

It has various components like:hardness:7,5-8(from 10),brilliancy-glassy, the chemical formula-Be3AI2Si6O198,colours like:colourless,white,greenish,green,yellow,pink,pink-yellowish.The transparent ones are of high quality. Some of them are treated thermal to eliminate the yellow color. The color becomes more insipid in the direct light of the sun. The color is ordered by the iron contents of silicates .The most precious models of aquamarine are the perfect transparent ones with a very light shade of light blue.

The note: the Aquamarine could be confounded with the bleu topaz (named the Brazilian aquamarine), the blue zirconium (named the Siam Aquamarine), the synthetic aquamarine, the tourmaline and the glass.

The new item: The biggest aquamarine was discovered in Brasilia in 1910, having a weight of 110 kilos, transparent. The navigators have considered that the aquamarine is a sea stone.
